Club Events – Children – Blue Cards – YOU

Club Events – Children – Blue Cards – YOU

The Club has just received this timely reminder from CAMS Qld Office.

“This is a reminder that if your club runs events that involve children under the age of 18 you, then your members may be required to hold a blue card (even if you’re a volunteer). Please see the attached information flyer regarding Blue Card requirements for Sporting organisations.

I particularly draw your attention to the final page under “Examples of when you will need a blue card” – for any clubs that run junior development programs or come and try activities aimed at children, the club committee as well as any members who are instructing the children must hold a current Blue Card.

Clubs and members can be fined up to $30,000 for not complying with Qld Blue Card Legislation.

If you have any queries or are unsure if your club committee or members require a Blue Card please contact me.”
