L2P Mentors required – Can you help?

PCYC Rockhampton’s L2P program was designed to assist young people in gaining their “P” licence by helping them get their 100 learner logbook hours. We currently have access to an automatic vehicle to utilise for lessons with volunteer mentors from the community who sit in the car with participants and log their completed hours in their logbook. The L2P volunteer mentors aren’t professional driving instructors but basically supervise driving as what a mother/father/older brother or sister/aunty or uncle would do to help get the learner’s hours up. Our targeted group of young people for the program are people who genuinely can’t get driving practice; young people who can’t afford professional driving lessons, who don’t have access to a vehicle or someone who has held their open drivers licence for more than a year to log hours and also single parents and teens disengaged from their families and living independently, however we do take referrals for anyone interested in the program nonetheless. At the moment there is no cost involved at all.
