Please check the Calendar for other upcoming events.
Most Motorkhana/Khanacross events are held on gravel, with at least two events held at the Gracemere Saleyards bitumen car park each year, including a Queensland Motorkhana Championship round to be held on the 28th of March.
A Motorkhana is a test of a driver’s memory, acceleration, manouvering and braking. Normally eight to twelve different tests are run each day.
- Penalties are given for wrong directions and knocking course markers.
- Classes are calculated on car wheel base.
- Quickest aggregate time wins overall , and in classes.

This is the introductory level of Motor Sport and provides very sound driver training for junior drivers. Minimum driver age is twelve. Senior club members are available as instructors for junior drivers. Note: we do not teach people how to opperate a car.
Each event we run includes a ‘come and try day’, where anyone can come along and compete to see if they like the sport for $30.
- Closed in shoes
- Non flammable clothing
- Drivers under eighteen years of age must have a parent or guardian present to sign the appropriate indemnity forms
Any type of car can compete but must be in safe condition. All cars will be scrutineered, with particular attention to seats, doors, battery security, fluid leaks, and any loose items in the car.
A Khanacross has same rules as Motorkhana, but is a much longer course, each track being up to 1.5 kilometres. Usually eight to fifteen tests are run per day.
