23rd to 25th July saw the running of Rocky’s 1st ever Street Sprint, in and around the Show grounds. 106 cars entered the event , most completing the 12 runs over the 2 days of action on the flowing but challenging bitumen 1 km track .

1st Outright was on openwheeler of Darren Duffield   37.59 sces

2nd outright , Ray Vandersee in a Skelta G Force Racing car 38.35 secs

3rd out right , Paul White, Mits Evo 6.5 in  38.61 secs

3 Drift cars and the Camco Group sponsored V8 Series ute kept the crowd entertained during the intervals.

All competitors who competed are keen to enter next year’s event.

Capricorn Resort Rally, formerly Rydges Capricorn Rally, a round of the Qld Rally Championship , will be held at the Capricorn Resort on Sat 17th July.

30 entries have been received , including Subaru WRX’s ,Mits Evos , V8 Ford and Holden, a BDA Escort , Mazda RX7, Datsun 1600′s , VW , BMW, and many others.

The event starts at the Resort at 10am. Viewing of cars from 9am at the Kookaburra Room , then Spectator viewing of cars in action from 10am at the Homestead. From the resort , head towards the Golf Course, turn to Homestead, and follow Spectator Signs. Cars return to the Homestead at 2.45 pm and 5.30 pm.

A spectator point is also available at Byfield Forest , just north of the Forest Station. Follow signs to spectator point. 1st car due at 12.30 pm.

Camco Group Rocky Street Sprint is nearing. We currently have over 80 entries , with nominations closing on 12th July.

As with all major events , they can not happen with out the assistance of volunteers. Many have already nominated to assist with setting up, tearing down the event , and the running of the event.

More assistance from volunteers is still required.

Be a part of the action and give a little time.

Set up commences early on Wednesday 21st July till late Friday 23rd.

The event will be conducted on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th ,with officials required from 5.45 am till 5.30 pm.

Tear down willl be from early Monday 26th till everything is packed up on Tueasday 27th.
